Finally got the head put together.

Skeleton Warrior
Progress on the Harryhausen type Skeleton Warrior for class. "Carved" the shield and sword blade tonight. Made a cast of a super sculpy skull the other day. Needs a little clean up. Need to push to get this thing done soon. Enjoy.

Stop Motion Class and Harryhausen/B-Movie Tribute
Skeleton warrior and Ymur/Gill-man inspired monster. These are initial designs I did for my stop-motion puppet making class. They're slowly being refined. The group project, much to my elation, is a B-movie/Harryhausen tribute. We'll see how it turns out. Enjoy.

"I'm Luke Skywalker I'm here to rescue you!"
Using one of the nine Luke Skywalkers on my desk, a doodle of my childhood hero as I try to grow as someone who wants to work in the animation industry. Reading Tom Bancroft's book "Character Mentor" and trying to apply the ideas discussed. He has the same color boots and belt as the Micro Collection Luke Skywalker from my youth!

Monsters
Doodles from the sketchbook. Haven't updated in a while. Some random stuff from around Halloween. The Frankenstein Monster, Nosferatu, Creature from the Black Lagoon, War of the Worlds Tripod.

Western Town
My first two layouts for (surprise) Layout Class. The assignment: draw a western town then do a 180 view of it (the opposite direction). I liked it though it was a bit nerve wracking at first. Then I remembered I know how to draw and just did it. Enjoy.

Catching up
A bunch of stuff. A Collaboration I'm trying to design a P.I. for (he's not standing on the building I just have a small book to draw in), people I saw at the DMV one morning, random sketchbook doodles (for Color Kittens, Batman, a random Mutant, and Giant Movie Director Movie Monsters: a giant Mecha Lucas that can only be stopped by a Mega-Spielberg or Radioactive Coppola. The other two coming soon.) Finally the last four paintings from my landscape class the bottom left of which was meant to be a master painting that we copy and learn from and I got the okay to copy a background from the "Thundarr the Barbarian" intro. That's it for now.

First Oils Ever
First ever oil painting. My tree is a bit rubbery but I really dig the group of trees on the right in the mid-ground.

Bartoons and End of the Semester Round-up...
End of the Semester. Last of the Character Design class drawings and part of the final in the form of Barbarian cartoon characters. The villains did not turn out as great as I wanted but I like these guys. Batgirl was the last day of drawing and I redid the one pose in my sketchbook. Anyway back to doing comic pages. Enjoy.

Godzilla Only Appears at Midnight...

Random sketchbook doodles. The second is what I've been doing while I was bored waiting for class. It's an exercise in making Krumm and Nox's universe bigger as they walk through a weird market on an alien world. Third is three relatively "quick" drawings of my fiancee for class and the last two are from the model in character design class. Enjoy.

What's New in Character Design...

Yes that's Mr. T. Yes I'm sick to death of drawing him. Hands and feet and shoes that he never asked to review. The Phantom makes me laugh in that he wears the mask on the wrong side of his face. There are a couple of cartoons based on the models that I did during lunch. Pocahontas and Rapunzel are from using a character sheet and using the live model to draw them in the pose we were seeing. A cartoon barbarian girl and then random model drawings attempting to make characters out of them as the class went on. WOO!

Asteroids

So I did this today. The paint is like a pearlescent blue so when the light hits it it looks kind of metal-ish. I'm amused. Another step in bringing space a little bit closer. Micro Machines Star Destroyer and home made Ring World (or halo) for scale. I think one day I'll wake up and notice that I've made all the pieces for a "Smacked in the Head" miniatures game without having realized it.
